ABOUT TEACH LOLA

Teach Lola, pioneers the drive towards encouraging the younger generation to take the first step to bridge the digital divide by teaching their grandparents how to get connected to the world through the World Wide Web.

Currently composed of a total of more than 20 volunteers coming from all departments in Bayan, Teach Lola begins the campaign internally with the grandparents of the Bayan employees. After being trained by Learn.ph—Bayan’s teaching partner for the advocacy, the Teach Lola team is set to lead upcoming session and events that are geared in bringing together grandparents and their grandchildren.

And with its thrust of letting the Filipinos voice be heard—even
the elderly—the telco, through Teach Lola, makes it possible for the elderly to not only have a voice in this nternet-driven society but also to bring grandparents and their grandchildren closer together by expanding their communication to more than just special occasions.

I actually was able to teach my mom how to use the computer bit by bit. Now she already knows how to use email and messenger programs all by herself and get to talk with my sister in the US. She enjoys solitaire too. I'm still working on letting her use search engines and join social networking sites. I just let her use the computer to get familiarized with the programs.

Great program!!! Teaching our grandparents/elderly how to use the internet is really a very good campaign. The modules and you're approach is a big help for them to understand computers and the internet better.

More power! =)
